Dr. Kimberly OeDell, DVM (Owner)

Education: Oregon State University

Dr. OeDell was born and raised here in Oregon and had a love for pets at a young age. Her love of animals came from her late grandmother who was elated when she heard Kimberly had been accepted into OSU veterinary program. Dr. OeDell grew up with dogs, cats, rabbits and chickens, and as she got older and saved up babysitting money, she purchased her first horse. She graduated from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. During her 4 years of doctorate training, she did an internship on the Island of Rarotonga, one of the Cook Islands in the South Pacific.

After graduation, she moved to Molalla, and while working locally, she fell in love with the town and people. After several years, she decided this is where she wanted to stay and transitioned into opening her very own practice.

In 2010, Hope Animal hospital was opened as a passion of Dr. OeDell’s and the current practice manager, Katie Holmes. The mission was to start a compassionate, family friendly and affordable practice that practiced high quality medicine, surgery and care. Dr. OeDell has special interest in surgery, geriatric medicine and neonatal care.

In her free time, she spends time with her husband and 5 children, Sean, Noah, Hannah, Mesa and Madi. In addition to her 2 legged children, she is surrounded by her dogs, cats, horses and pet cow.

Katie (Office Manager and Head Technician)

Hometown: Molalla

Katie, Office Manager and Head Technician, and Dr. OeDell had the mutual passion to open Hope Animal Hospital in 2010. Katie was born and raised in Molalla and has never found a reason to leave. Katie started out working reception and scheduling for the first 7 years at Hope Animal Hospital, and has since moved to the back where she now assists the doctors and does anesthesia and monitoring for our surgical patients. Her passion is in animal behavior and psychology. Katie enjoys researching and learning dog behavior triggers and solutions. Though some days she does miss seeing and talking with our clients, she loves getting to snuggle and care for all the fur babies that are in the hospital for surgery. You can be assured they are in great hands. Katie married the love of her life and bonus son in 2010 and welcomed her amazing daughter in 2012. In her free time her and her husband enjoy working with troubled dogs especially in the herding breeds as her first dog love was and Australian Cattle Dog, Moose. Most recently she and her daughter have enjoyed adding to the family Ragdoll cats!!

Dr. Samantha Rogerson  (formerly Dr. Samantha Hunt)

Dr. Rogerson is an Oregon native who lived in Colorado and Scotland while completing her undergraduate degree. Since elementary school, Dr.Rogerson had been deciding between two career paths- veterinarian or spy. After deciding that her true passion was to be a veterinarian, Dr. Rogerson excitedly returned home to attend veterinary school. We are sure glad she did! In 2014, she graduated from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine after receiving the honor of the Compassionate Care Award. After spending 4 years in the town of Corvallis, she was reluctant to return to the hustle and bustle of her home town of Portland, but she was delighted when she discovered like-minded souls in Molalla. In 2015 she found the team at Hope Animal Hospital who shares her compassion for animals and their owners. Dr Rogerson stepped in as our full time veterinarian and has been a fantastic addition to our team. She has a fondness for all animals but specializes in dogs and cats. However she is also willing to jump in in emergency situations and help on some of our pocket pets as well. She has a passion for all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, and she enjoys helping clients provide their pets with the best care possible. When she not at work, she is spending time with her Australian Shepherd, Cullin. In 2021 Dr. Hunt officially marries the love of her life and becomes Dr. Rogerson. She enjoys spending time with her husband to be and they are already planning on adding additional pets to their family.

Morgan (Receptionist and Scheduling Care Specialist)

Morgan, Reception and Scheduling Care Specialist, joined our team in 2017. She was born and raised in Tigard, Oregon, but moved to the Molalla area in 2015 to escape the busy city life. Morgan is the reassuring voice you hear most often when calling, Hope Animal Hospital. She has been a wonderful addition to our team, and we would honestly be lost without her! Morgan is our little Mighty Mouse. You will often see her packing 60 lbs of dog food out to people’s cars. She is fierce! She is incredible at her multi-tasking skills, you will often see Morgan checking out a client, talking to clients on the phone and filling meds all at the same time. Morgan and her husband, Preston, have 3 dogs named Cabela, Ranger and Bronco, and a rescue cat named Kitty. If you visit the hospital, there is a good chance you will see Ranger assisting and supervising his mom at the front desk. In her free time, Morgan enjoys spending time with her family, hiking with her dogs, taking trips to the dunes, and almost any other outdoor adventure.

Jessica (Veterinary Assistant)

Jessica, Veterinary Assistant Part-time, has been working with us since 2012. Jessica has a fun loving spirit and an infectious smile. She brightens our difficult days with song and laughter. Jessica also has the best Boston Terrier impression ever! She was born and raised in the area as was her husband, Brock. Jessica and Brock have 3 children, Hadley, Harper and Decker and plenty of animals to tend to including a few rescues from work. They raise pigs for their local 4-H club, the “Wilhoit Wranglers.” Her and her family enjoy hunting, gardening, fishing, hiking and maintaining their 20 acre farm.

Lydia (Veterinary Assistant)

Lydia, Veterinary Assistant and Kennel Staff, has been working with our team since 2017. Lydia is our young, energetic assistant that you may see running around. No project is too big or small, and we greatly appreciate her determination and hard work. Lydia started with us to get some job experience and has become a valuable member of our team. She was born and raised locally and is a 2020 Molalla High graduate. Growing up Lydia always thought the cocker spaniel on Hope Animal hospital’s sign was her first dog Sonja, so it was destined for her to join our team. Since joining our team, her love for animals has grown significantly as has her number of pets. She has found a love for kittens and took on a litter of bottle babies last year, and only kept one, Phoebe. She hopes to have many additional pets in the future. She is currently attending CCC and aspires to become a surgical assistant in the human field.

Jill (Veterinary Assistant)

Jill, Veterinary Assistant, joined our team recently in 2020. We call her our dog whisperer when it comes to nail trims. She is incredibly calm and goes at the pets pace. She is wonderful and detailed when helping clients understand discharges and care instructions. She has lived in the Molalla area for 18 years and has raised two wonderful daughters in addition to all kinds of pets. She has a great passion for animals and has been in the animal care industry for over 15 years.

Rayleen (The Work Mom)

Rayleen, The Work Mom, has joined and retired from our team several times since we opened in 2010. Rayleen was born and raised locally. Rayleen is officially Katie’s mom but, honestly, she is everyone’s mom. She helps on the phones when needed, assists the doctors, does office work and cleaning, brings us lunch or sweet treats and helps with any other task we ask. Rayleen married her high school sweetheart 39 years ago and raised two children along with a lot of pets.

Abby and Sammy (Clinic Cats)

Abby and Sammy- our two most important employees!! Our clinic cats both joined our hospital the year we opened in 2010. Abby was a stray kitten found with a mangled hind leg that we had to amputate. Sammy was a feral with a flea allergy, she came to us sweet and naked. You may see them watching through the window but since they are elderly they enjoy laying in the sun upstairs away from the excitement.

Odie 'O' (Rescue Hound)

Odie ‘O’- Rescue Hound. Odie is a very special additional to our work family. He came to us as a 4 week old puppy with deformed hind legs. Despite numerous orthopedic surgeries on his hind legs, they are still deformed and nothing more can be done to correct them. You may recognize Odie by his unique gait and hunched posture when he is out for his regular potty walks. We took Odie on with intentions of placing him with a rescue, but our hearts fell in love with him, and he ended up becoming a permanent member of our work family. Odie has numerous jobs that he performs at Hope Animal Hospital. He cares for all of our bottle baby kittens, pre-heats surgical patients’ beds while they are in surgery, socializes puppies and offers our team comfort on our difficult days.
